Colombian Night 2009
The Colombian Student Association – COLSA would cordially like to invite you and your family to our eighth cultural night to be held on February 28, 2009 at the Meacham Auditorium, Oklahoma Memorial Union, under the theme “Colombia: The Eternal Carnival”.
The Colombian Cultural Night was created to continue the long-standing tradition of international awareness at the University of Oklahoma. OU has a great reputation for supporting and presenting cultural events designed to promote the understanding of the international students who make up a large part of the student body.
COLSA has been working in this type of programs for the past seven years and has now a strong reputation across the campus. As a result we hosted about 700 people among students, faculty and community in our Colombian Night last year. On February 28, 2009 we will continue to offer students and the public an opportunity to see dances, performances, and other activities that are typical of the great Colombian Culture.
Our goal is to promote and show Colombian Culture to individuals who aren’t familiar with our traditions or our country. Our mission is to eliminate stereotypical thoughts about Colombia and show its real image full of carnivals, great people, amazing landscapes and an incredible biodiversity. Our event on February 28th will show the beauty of Colombia during our cultural show. Guests will experience our delightful cuisine during our typical dinner and celebration filled with music will follow after the dinner.
For advertisement opportunities or more information call COLSA Advisor Yoana Walschap at 405-325-4753 or by e-mail at ywalschap@ou.edu”
