About Us...
Welcome to the COUAA web page. We are a group of Colombian alumni from the University of Oklahoma who understand the value of education and the effort that some Colombian students are making to come to OU to pursue a degree. The mission of our association is to give back to OU, through a Scholarship Fund for COLSA members, what the university HAS provided to us . . . education, experience and knowledge. Giving back is a great feeling, and if we do it together, the impact to our Colombian community will be enormous.
FOR COLSA MEMBERS:
To be eligible for the scholarship, you must be (1) a current OU student at the University of Oklahoma, (2) in need of financial support, (3) a current member of COLSA, (4) don't have a tuition waiver. Please check out our online scholarship application by following the "Scholarships" link on the left hand side. The applications will be available on January 25, 2012, with a deadline for submission of February 7, 2012 at midnight. Scholarships will be awarded during Colombian Night on Friday, March 9, 2012, at the Reynolds Performing Arts Center
If you are a Colombian Alumnus from the University of Oklahoma, or any other institution, and would like to make a donation to the Scholarship Fund, we invite you to follow the instructions provided in the "Donations" section. To help us serve our alumni better, we welcome your comments about this page. Please share with us any items you would like to see posted, such as how to locate fellow graduates from several years ago, picture sharing of your years at OU, and any other interesting information you feel would be useful. We would love to incorporate all of this!
We believe that by working together, first as COLSA members, and after graduation as COUAA contributors, we can make a big difference in the life of many Colombians.
